Training Location
Our training is conveniently delivered at our modern Skills Centre: Unit 2/22 Winton Rd, Joondalup WA 6027 (Located just a short drive from Ashby, a 10-minute walk from Joondalup Train Station, and easily accessible via the Mitchell Freeway with plenty of on-site parking).
Delivery & Duration
- Mode: Integrated classroom and virtual learning, combined with a mandatory practical placement.
- Duration: Classroom-based delivery spans approximately 15 weeks.
- Work Placement: 160 hours (4 weeks) of hands-on experience in a registered disability service or aged care facility.
- Schedule: Classes are held Monday to Thursday, from 9am to 5pm.
- Flexibility: We offer rolling intakes throughout the year. Students have the flexibility to take up to 12 months to complete the course.

Enrolment Requirements
There are no formal academic prerequisites for this individual support course. However, all applicants must pass a basic Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test (ACSF Level 3).
Before you can begin your work placement, you must provide:
- National Police Clearance
- Working with Children Check
- Updated Immunisation Record with all COVID as well as flu vaccinations
- NDIS Screening check (This is a requirement from aged care facilities even if you are only doing the ageing stream)
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Hand Hygiene Certificate
- NDIS Orientation module
- Infection Control Certificate
- Working with Children Check

Work Placement
A vital part of your qualification is the 160 hours of supervised work placement. This experience allows you to apply your classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, building the confidence required to work as a personal care assistant or disability worker.
Course Fees & Payment Options
- Eligible Students: Many residents in Ashby may qualify for government-subsidised or fee-free training through Skills WA.
- Full Fee: $3,000 for students not eligible for government subsidies.
- Payment Plans: A $1,200 non-refundable deposit secures your enrolment. The remaining balance can be paid via a flexible payment plan, provided the full amount is settled prior to commencing your placement.
Student who are not eligible for any government subsidies can still enrol and complete the course by paying $3,000. A $1200 (non-refundable) deposit is required to secure a place of study. The balance of tuition fee can be spread out on a payment plan. The tuition fee amount should be paid in full prior to starting the Work Placement.
