The venue is easily accessible for students travelling from Ocean Reef via the Mitchell Freeway and surrounding arterial roads. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from Joondalup Train Station and offers ample free on-site parking.

Delivery & Duration

The Certificate IV in Disability Support in Ocean Reef is delivered through a blended learning model combining face-to-face classroom training with supported virtual learning.

The classroom component runs for approximately 10 weeks, with classes held 4 days per week from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

Students are also required to complete 80 hours of vocational work placement in an approved disability or aged care facility. This placement is organised toward the end of the course and provides hands-on experience applying disability support skill sets in real workplace environments. Rolling intakes allow students to commence training at various times throughout the year.

Work Placement

To complete the qualification, students must undertake 80 hours of supervised work placement within a disability or aged care facility. This vocational placement allows students to apply disability support skills through direct client care, behavioural support strategies, and community participation activities.

Work placement commences only after all classroom training has been completed and all required documentation has been submitted.

Enrolment Requirements

To meet the entry requirements for the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support, applicants must have completed one of the following qualifications:

  • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
  • CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability plus the required bridging skill set

Applicants must provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI) and the following documents prior to work placement:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Updated Immunisation Record (including COVID-19 and Flu)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Valid First Aid Certificate
  • Hand Hygiene Certificate
  • Infection Control Certificate
  • NDIS Orientation Module

All documents must be provided at least two weeks before work placement commencement.

Eligibility & Lower Fee Course

Eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Students must reside in Western Australia and provide valid photo identification, proof of residency or visa status, and completed enrolment documentation.

Eligible students may access Lower Fee (government-subsidised) training.
