Training Location

Our modern Skills Centre is conveniently located for students based in Balcatta: Unit 2/22 Winton Rd, Joondalup WA 6027. The venue is easily accessible via the Mitchell Freeway (Hodges Drive exit) or Wanneroo Road. It is just a 10-minute walk from the Joondalup Train Station, and we provide extensive on-site parking for students commuting from Balcatta.

Delivery & Duration

  • Mode: Blended learning, featuring face-to-face classroom instruction and virtual sessions.
  • Duration: Classroom delivery spans approximately 10 weeks.
  • Work Placement: A mandatory 80-hour (2-week) practical component follows the classroom phase.
  • Schedule: Classes are held 4 days per week, typically 9am – 4.30pm.
  • Flexibility: We offer rolling intakes throughout the year, allowing Balcatta residents to begin their disability support courses at their earliest convenience.

Course Units

To satisfy the requirements for this qualification, students must achieve competency in 10 units (7 core and 3 elective):

  • CHCDIS018 Facilitate ongoing skills development using a person-centred approach
  • CHCDIS019 Provide person-centred services to people with disability with complex needs

  • CHCMHS001 Work with people with mental health issues
  • HLTWHS003 Maintain work health and safety

Elective Units:

Work Placement

To achieve full certification, students must complete 80 hours of supervised work within an Aged Care or Disability facility. This work placement is essential for validating your skills in a professional environment. We organise these placements for you toward the conclusion of your classroom training.

Enrolment Requirements

To enter the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support, you must hold a prior qualification. Valid entry requirements include completion of:

  • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability); or
  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability); or
  • CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability plus the bridging skill set.

Eligibility & Lower Fee Pricing

Residents of Balcatta who are Australian citizens or permanent residents may be eligible for the Lower Fee (government-subsidised) program in Western Australia.

  • Concession Rate: $261.60
  • Non-Concession Rate: $882.90 (Note: Fees are indicative and may vary based on individual circumstances).

Fee for Service

If you do not qualify for government subsidies, you can enrol via the Fee for Service option for $2,500.

  • Deposit: A $1,200 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place.
  • Payment Plans: The remaining balance can be settled via a flexible payment plan, provided it is paid in full before the work placement begins.
