Training Location
Our Skills Centre is conveniently located for residents of Quinns Rocks: Unit 2/22 Winton Rd, Joondalup WA 6027 (A short commute from Quinns Rocks, located a 10-minute walk from Joondalup Train Station and close to the Mitchell Freeway with plenty of free parking).
Delivery & Duration
- Mode: Blended classroom and virtual learning, including a mandatory practical placement.
- Duration: Approximately 15 weeks of face-to-face classroom delivery.
- Work Placement: 160 hours (4 weeks) within a registered aged care or disability care environment.
- Schedule: Classes run from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday.
- Flexibility: We offer rolling intakes, meaning you can start your journey almost immediately. Students have a maximum of 12 months to finish the course.
Your work placement is fully organised by our team, providing you with the vital real-world experience needed to excel as a care worker.

Enrolment Requirements
While there are no formal prerequisites for this course, applicants must complete a short Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) test to confirm ACSF Level 3 competency.
Prior to commencing your work placement, you will need to obtain and provide:
- National Police Clearance
- Working with Children Check
- Updated Immunisation Record with all COVID as well as flu vaccinations
- NDIS Screening check (This is a requirement from aged care facilities even if you are only doing the ageing stream)
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Hand Hygiene Certificate
- NDIS Orientation module
- Infection Control Certificate
- Working with Children Check

Work Placement
Students are required to finish 160 hours of supervised work placement in an aged care or disability facility. This is a critical part of the course, ensuring you gain hands-on experience and build the confidence necessary to work as a personal care worker or disability support worker.
Course Fees & Payment Options
- Eligible Students: Residents of Quinns Rocks who are Australian citizens or permanent residents may be eligible for fee-free or government-subsidised training via Skills WA.
- Full Fee: $3,000 for students who are not eligible for subsidies.
- Deposit: A $1,200 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot.
- Payment Plans: Flexible options are available for the remaining balance. All tuition must be settled before starting your work placement.
Student who are not eligible for any government subsidies can still enrol and complete the course by paying $3,000. A $1200 (non-refundable) deposit is required to secure a place of study. The balance of tuition fee can be spread out on a payment plan. The tuition fee amount should be paid in full prior to starting the Work Placement.
